You have no VHF radio — only a mobile phone with 1 bar of signal. How do you contact the Coastguard?

A. Dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard; or dial 112 (works even on networks you are not subscribed to and may use neighbouring masts). Give your position as accurately as possible. Note: mobile coverage at sea is unreliable — always carry VHF as primary

B. Call the RNLI directly on their public number — Coastguard cannot be reached by mobile
