Everyone is safe and the person is recovering well, wrapped up warm. Should the skipper still tell the Coastguard what happened?

A. Yes — a quick Pan Pan or informal call lets the Coastguard know a man overboard happened and that it has been dealt with safely. This is good practice and means there is a record in case anything changes later

B. Only call if the person needed to go to hospital

C. No need at all — since everything is now fine, there is nothing to report

D. Post about it on social media instead of using the radio

A. "MAN OVERBOARD!" loudly, so every single person on the boat knows immediately, and point at the person in the water without taking your eyes off them
