You need to berth a powerboat on a pontoon with a strong onshore wind pushing the boat onto the berth. What is the correct approach technique?
A. Approach beam-on at full speed and let the wind slow you down against the pontoon
B. Approach slowly, at an angle of about 20-30°, with the engine able to go astern to control the final approach — the wind will push you onto the berth so use very little power; have a crew member ready with springs and breast lines
C. Approach from the opposite direction so the wind is behind you on the approach
D. Approach fast and use reverse thrust aggressively to stop — momentum is needed to overcome the wind
