The investigation finds the bullying did occur as described. What outcomes should the master consider?
A. Automatic dismissal is the only acceptable outcome for any confirmed bullying, regardless of severity
B. A proportionate response — which could range from a formal warning and required behaviour change, through to more serious disciplinary action or repatriation in severe or repeated cases — combined with checking in on the welfare of the person who was bullied and considering whether any wider team or cultural issue contributed
C. No consequence is needed as long as the bullying has stopped by the time the investigation concludes
D. The matter should simply be closed once findings are confirmed, with no further welfare follow-up for the person affected

A. Do not stay silent just because you are not the target — bullying that goes unchallenged by bystanders becomes normalised; consider speaking to the junior crew member privately to check they are okay, and report the pattern to an officer or via the ship's confidential reporting channel
B. Wait for the junior crew member to formally complain before doing or saying anything yourself
C. Ignore it completely, since it is not your business and the junior crew member is laughing along
D. Join in to avoid standing out from the group

A. Retaliate by excluding or insulting them back in the same way
B. Recognise this as bullying, not just "personality clashes" — document specific incidents (dates, what was said/done, witnesses if any), and raise it through the ship's established channel (officer, designated person ashore, or confidential reporting line) rather than suffering in silence or trying to handle it entirely alone
C. Say nothing to anyone, in case raising it makes your position on the ship worse
D. Assume this is normal shipboard banter that everyone experiences and should simply tolerate
