How can a skipper obtain medical advice for a crew member in distress at sea when no medical professional is aboard?
A. Ask on the local marina channel and hope a doctor is monitoring
B. Medical advice at sea is not available — manage alone until port
C. Transmit a Pan Pan on Ch 16 to HM Coastguard and request relay to the duty doctor at the Maritime and Coastguard Agency's medical advisory service (or CIRM/equivalent internationally)

A. Severe hypothermia — perform CPR immediately regardless of pulse
B. Heat exhaustion — cool the casualty and give cold water
C. Mild to moderate hypothermia (core temp ~32–35°C) — remove wet clothing, insulate from wind and cold, warm with blankets and foil, give warm sweet drinks if conscious and no injury suspected, handle gently and do NOT rub limbs
