The general fire alarm now sounds throughout the ship. What is your responsibility as a crew member, regardless of rank?

A. Proceed to your designated muster station or fire party role as set out in the ship's muster list, without delay, following the established emergency procedure rather than improvising

B. Go directly to your cabin to collect personal belongings first

C. Wait for someone to come and find you individually before moving anywhere

A. Assume it is something minor like cooking smells and continue with your task

B. Raise the alarm immediately — use the nearest manual call point/fire alarm or shout/use the nearest means of communication — do not spend time searching for the source alone first. Early reporting, even before the source is confirmed, is always correct

C. Search every space along the passageway yourself first to find the exact source before telling anyone

D. Go and find the duty officer in person before activating any alarm, however long that takes

A. Open the panel yourself to investigate further before reporting anything

B. Report the exact location, what you can see (smoke, smouldering, any smell of burning insulation/electrics), and whether anyone is in immediate danger — clear, specific information helps the response team bring the right equipment and isolate the right systems quickly

C. Spray water directly onto the electrical panel immediately

D. Wait for flames to actually appear before reporting it as a fire
