One anchor line is estimated to run in approximately the direction the vessel is drifting. The navigator asks whether the anchor line exclusion zone applies during this emergency. Does the emergency status change the vessel\'s obligation to stay clear of the anchor spread?
A. Yes — in a DP emergency, the vessel has priority over anchor spread exclusion zones
B. The exclusion zone only applies during normal DP operations, not manual manoeuvring
C. No — the anchor spread exclusion zone applies at all times, including during emergencies. An anchor line beneath the vessel's thrusters or hull represents a serious entanglement and damage risk regardless of what prompted the vessel to be in that position. The correct manoeuvre is to track away from the rig while staying out of the anchor spread, not to drift over it
