A. Fill as fast as possible to minimise time at the pump
B. Slow down as the tank approaches full, listen/watch for the tone or sight change indicating it's nearly done, and use a drip tray or absorbent pad under the filler and any vent to catch spillage or overflow
C. There is no real risk of spillage from a vent pipe, only from the filler itself
D. Environmental precautions are only necessary when refuelling from a jerry can, not at a fixed fuel berth
