A lighthouse shows White, Red, and Green sectors. You are approaching and see red. What does this mean?

A. Red means stop and anchor until the light changes to white

B. Coloured sectors are only for commercial vessels — leisure craft should ignore them

C. Red sector indicates you are in an area of danger — rocks, shoals, or the wrong side of a channel. Alter course immediately until you enter the white (safe) sector. Green sector may indicate a secondary safe zone or the far edge of the channel

D. Red indicates you are in the centre of the safe channel — do not alter course
