Revision card — GUEST Management level, the top assessed tier and part of the route to a Chief Steward(ess) / Head of Interior Certificate of Competency. Unit 21: Accounting, Bookkeeping & Budgeting

• Role and responsibilities for onboard accounting, bookkeeping and budgeting
• Managing financial systems and purchase procedures
• Account planning
• Charter expenses, including VAT considerations

Unit 30: Human Resources & Crew Wellbeing

• Awareness of the Maritime Labour Convention and other relevant conventions as they apply to interior crew contracts
• Crew contracts and qualifications compliance
• Recruitment and induction of new interior crew
• Performance management and training/development planning
• Active management and commitment to crew wellbeing, not just a paperwork exercise

Unit 36: Event, Destination & Interior Management

• Running interior yacht operations at department-head level
• Event production and guest itinerary planning
• Interior administration and information management systems (building on Unit 34)
• Financial planning and HR processes at department level

What Else the Chief Stew CoC Requires

Completing these units alone doesn't produce a Chief Stewardess Certificate of Competency. Providers consistently list additional supporting requirements: STCW Basic Safety Training, MCA-approved Level 2 Food Safety/Hygiene, a valid ENG1 medical (or equivalent), 24 months of onboard experience including 120 days of guest presence, and three CPD options from an approved list (examples cited include Mental Health First Aid, PDSD and crowd management/fire safety certifications).
